Disk Space Required on a Web Hosting PlanHow much disk space do I need for my web site hosting?
Unless you plan to have a site in excess of 10 pages or use email or databases, the answer is very little. Web site pages are generally small, so even 10MB of space is plenty if you only require your website online. Ten megabytes will allow you room for the web site to grow, or the option of putting a few larger sized pages or files on your site. Hosting of larger sites and business sites is best done with larger amounts of space. This extra space allows the flexibility to have larger pages with additional multimedia, larger email accounts, and other features like mailing lists. The space also provides room for a large database if required now or in the future. For most business sites we would recommend that 100MB is enough until your site starts growing significantly or requires hosting of big files, and small personal sites could get away with a 10MB plan if their budget is tight and the requirements aren't major.
