Email SPAM Filtering

The best way to reduce the amount of spam you get is to login to the mail area of your cPanel control panel and enable SpamAssassin.

SpamAssassin is both a powerful and effective SPAM reduction tool, that calculates the likelihood of a particular piece of email being SPAM.

In the SpamAssassin menu of your cPanel Control Panel you can then configure SpamAssassin to rewrite the subject line of any emails that it deems as spam. For example, if SpamAssassin thinks that an email is SPAM it would change the subject from "spam subject line" to "*** SPAM *** spam subject line".

Once SpamAssassin is rewriting the subjects it is easy to create a mail rule in your email program to delete or move the emails to a spam folder if "*** SPAM ***" appears in the subject line.
