Switching Between Linux & Windows Plans

Can I switch between Linux and Windows plans?

Yes. Clients may switch between Linux and Windows plans if they change their mind on their preferred server type.

Switching between the two does have some requirements though.

Firstly, we cannot simply move your site files across if you are moving from Linux to Windows servers because the two systems are incompatible. All this means is that you will have to upload your website again to the new server, and recreate any email accounts or databases you have.

The second requirement is that you will need to change your DNS settings to point to the new server at your domain name registrar. If you bought your domain name through us originally then we are your registrar and will make the nameserver change free of charge at your request.

Once you have uploaded your site and switched your domain name to point to the different server, please let us know that we can now remove the old account on the previous server.

To make the switch please contact us and let us know your domain name and the plan you would like to move to, and we'll arrange it from there. Please be aware that switching your server does incur a $30 administration fee.
