Switching Web Hosting Provider

How do I switch my web hosting to you?

FAQ Answer

Switching your web hosting provider from one host to another is a very simple process. All that is required to make the switch is entering your DNS settings again with our nameserver information.

We will provide you with the correct nameserver details to use when you first register with ServerGrade.

Typically the settings look similar to this:

» NameServer Info:
Primary DNS Server Hostname: dns9.correctdns.com
Primary DNS Server Address: 147.202.44.223
Secondary Name Server Hostname: dns10.correctdns.com
Secondary Name Server Address: 147.202.44.224

As your new host, we will also provide an IP address so you can upload your site prior to making the DNS / nameservers settings switch.

By uploading your site before you change your domain name to point to us, you can maintain a 100% uptime. Clients will not even realise anything changed. Your accountant might though.

Please remember that because your hosting provider looks after your email accounts, they should be re-created on our servers prior to changing your DNS settings (to avoid any email downtime).
